Turkey Quinoa Burgers
Lately, Ive been all about the quick and simple meals during the weeks when my husband is away on business. My go to has been these turkey quinoa burgers. I like to put the patties on top of my salad for some added protein, eat them along side some roasted veggies or I’ll stick them between some bread and call it a day 🙂 These are even hubby approved! I bet you can guess which way he prefers!
I honestly love them so much that I pretty much eat them for dinner and maybe even lunch every day the hubs is gone. They are super easy to make and freeze very well. I like to make a batch on the weekends and then I’ll just take what I need out of the freezer and either defrost in the toaster oven.
Turkey Quinoa Burger Recipe:
You’ll need:
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 cup uncooked quinoa (I use the tricolor)
1-4 garlic cloves (depending on preference, we LOVE garlic so we use 4!)
1 small onion (or less, again depending on preference. We have used both sweet onions and red onions)
1 -2 stalks of celery
1 -2 carrots
Seasoning (I use salt, pepper, fresh parsley and an Italian seasoning blend)
While the quinoa is cooking, finely chop the garlic, onion, celery and carrots. Place in large mixing bowl, and add your seasoning. After the quinoa is done cooking, let cool for a few minutes and then add to mixing bowl. Mix everything together and now the fun part (jk I hate raw meat).. add the turkey and mix with your hands until everything is blended equally. Next form little patties. I like to make relatively small patties, so I typically get about 16 patties. Place patties on sprayed cooking sheet and bake in oven at 350 till done (time will vary based on size of patties) I like to bake them since its easier and less standing in the kitchen lol, but feel free to pan fry them if you’d like!
Hope you try these out! And stay tuned for my salmon patties!
XO
