Cake Pops

Ive always wanted to try my hand at making caking pops, so with Valentine’s day just around the corner I had the perfect excuse to bake some sweets! Let me warn you, you will loose all self control and want to devour them all! (At least I did 😉 )

You will need:

I box of Pillsbury purely simple white cake mix
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 and 1/2 Tbs vanilla
2 Tbs buttermilk or milk

Recipe:

For the cake, follow the instructions on the box (I substituted almond milk for the regular milk)). While the cake cools, prepare the buttercream. Combine the butter, vanilla, sugar and the milk (I used buttermilk). If your frosting is too liquidy add more sugar if it is to thick add more milk. Next use a fork to crumble the cake and stir in the frosting. Form little round balls and freeze for a couple of hours (I let mine freeze over night).

Now the fun part! Melt chocolate! I prefer white chocolate, but my husband likes dark, so we made both! Dip the cake pop sticks into the chocolate first before inserting into cake balls (this helps them stay in place). Now since this was my first attempt My cake pops did not turn out perfect but to hide their imperfections I sprinkled them with coconut flakes!
